The Central Library of Govt. Autonomous Science College, Jabalpur, is a premier hub of knowledge, serving students, research scholars, and faculty members. It represents a unique blend of historical heritage and modern digital technology.
1. Key Highlights
Extensive Collection: The library houses a vast collection of 64,083 books covering all branches of Science, along with literature, spiritual texts, and competitive examination resources.
Departmental Libraries: In addition to the main library, there are 7 specialized departmental libraries for postgraduate (PG) students.
Green Library Initiative: To create a peaceful and eco-friendly study environment, the library premises are landscaped with medicinal plants, evolving into a dedicated “Green Library.”
Reading Facilities: Separate, well-ventilated reading rooms are available for students, researchers, and teachers, with a combined seating capacity of over 100 readers at a time.

डिजिटल इंडिया के विजन के अनुरूप, हमारी सेंट्रल लाइब्रेरी अब अत्याधुनिक आरएफआईडी (RFID) तकनीक से लैस है। यह प्रणाली मैन्युअल काम को कम करती है और पुस्तकों के लेन-देन (Issue/Return) को अत्यधिक तेज़ और सुरक्षित बनाती है।
2. आरएफआईडी प्रणाली के मुख्य लाभ

स्वयं सेवा (Self-Issue/Return): छात्र अब बिना किसी कर्मचारी की मदद के कियोस्क मशीन के माध्यम से स्वयं पुस्तकें इश्यू और रिटर्न कर सकते हैं।

समय की बचत: लंबी लाइनों में खड़े होने की आवश्यकता नहीं है; यह मशीन कुछ ही सेकंड में कई पुस्तकों को एक साथ स्कैन कर सकती है।

पुस्तकालय सुरक्षा: लाइब्रेरी के प्रवेश द्वार पर लगे आरएफआईडी सेंसर गेट बिना अनुमति के पुस्तक बाहर ले जाने पर तुरंत अलर्ट देते हैं।

सटीक रिकॉर्ड: डिजिटल सिस्टम के कारण मानवीय त्रुटियों की संभावना खत्म हो जाती है और रिकॉर्ड हमेशा अपडेट रहता है।
3. कियोस्क मशीन का उपयोग कैसे करें?

आईडी कार्ड स्कैन करें: सबसे पहले अपनी आरएफआईडी-युक्त आईडी कार्ड को कियोस्क के स्कैनर पर दिखाएं।

पुस्तकें रखें: जिन पुस्तकों को इश्यू करना है, उन्हें कियोस्क के सेंसर पैड पर रखें।

पुष्टि करें: स्क्रीन पर पुस्तकों की जानकारी आने के बाद ‘Confirm’ बटन दबाएं।

रसीद प्राप्त करें: लेन-देन पूरा होने पर डिजिटल रसीद प्राप्त करें।
4. अत्याधुनिक सुरक्षा गेट (Security Gates)
लाइब्रेरी में लगे आरएफआईडी सुरक्षा गेट यह सुनिश्चित करते हैं कि पुस्तकालय का बहुमूल्य संग्रह सुरक्षित रहे। यदि कोई पुस्तक बिना इश्यू कराए गेट से बाहर ले जाई जाती है, तो सिस्टम अलार्म बजाकर सुरक्षा कर्मियों को सूचित कर देता है।
