                  Physics Department of Govt. Science College is engaged in research and teaching at the frontier areas of experimental and theoretical sciences. These include Materials Science, Polymer Science, ‎Luminescence physics, astro particle physics, space physics, renewable energies and technologies, biological physics, Electronics and theoretical physics. Excellence in research and teaching has been the hallmark of our department ever since its inception in 1943. Since the inception of the Institute in 1943, the Department of Physics has been extremely active and has, over the years, established itself as one of the premier Science departments at state level. All over Madhya Pradesh(undivided) the department was unique in a sense that it has well equipped Laboratories for studies in spectroscopy and nuclear physics. The department was first to have a computer lab in 1990 decade and we are flag bearer to develop software for examination cell of Govt. Science College.
